A Pathway course bridges the gap between your qualification from your home Country and the level needed to enter the University in the UK.
When it comes to apply for University in the UK some qualifications taken in your Country may not necessarily be enough to meet the entry requirements straight away, this is due to the fact that candidates’ final grades aren’t enough or simply because their International qualifications do not match with the UK ones; a Pathway course is mandatory in cases like these but it is also highly recommended to all those International students who need to perfect their level of English and gain the necessary set of skills required to succeed in their undergraduate degree.
Our University Pathways are designed to give your current qualification a boost, allowing you to enrol at a better University and to prepare you for degree studies.
Once you pass your Pathway course at the required level, you are guaranteed to progress to your chosen degree.
You can choose between International Foundation Year and International Foundation Year One.
INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (IF): A foundation year programme is a gateway into full higher education study. It’s an extra year added on to the beginning of your full bachelor’s degree, to prepare you with the foundational academic skills that will help you go on to successfully earn your bachelor’s degree afterwards.
Subjects available at our partner Universities are Art and Design, Engineering and computer sciences, Business, Management and Economics, Law, Media, Psychology, Humanities, Pharmacy.
INTERNATIONAL YEAR ONE (IY1): This course is designed for international students who want to study an undergraduate degree in the UK, but do not quite have the academic or English qualifications for direct entry to a university. It is equivalent to the first year of a degree, but with lower entry requirements. On successful completion, most courses guarantee progression to the second year of a degree programme starting the following September.
Subjects available at our partner universities are Business, Management and Finance, Engineering and computing, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics and Robotics.
